This is a really old recipe for an old time dessert. I have shared this recipe with my family for over 50 years, it has been requested and requested. To make it palatable and to make it taste like a pie, add a little milk and sugar.

Old fashioned peanut butter pie is a classic dessert that will put a smile on the face of any peanut butter lover in your home. Made with peanut butter, cream cheese, heavy cream and sugar, this silky cake has a surprisingly light flavor and is perfect as a sweet, but not too sweet, dessert. This recipe doesn’t take much effort, especially if you have a hand mixer to blend the ingredients. You can use your oven or make a no-bake version for convenience and even add more power to your good old peanut butter pie by adding chocolate, jelly, peanuts and more!

How to make peanut butter pie the old fashioned way

To make a peanut butter pie, you must first bake the pie crust. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown and allow to cool completely before pouring the filling on top.

To make a rich, creamy peanut butter filling, first beat the whipping cream to stiff peaks. Do it by hand or use a blender. Put the peanut butter in a bowl and beat it with the cream cheese and sugar. When the mixture is smooth, gently spatulate in the whipped cream. Pour the filling into the pie crust and place in the refrigerator for at least 3 hours or overnight to set.

Tips for making the best peanut butter pie

– To avoid fussing with the oven, make a no-bake peanut butter pie. Use a graham cracker crust or buy a ready-made pie crust from the store.

– If you don’t want to use fresh cheese, you can replace it with plain yogurt, ricotta, or even silken tofu.

– Although homemade whipped cream is the best, you can also use cold whipped cream for the cake if you have some in the house.

– If you are using natural peanut butter, you can add up to 6 tablespoons of heavy cream to thin it out. Stir well between additions to determine how much extra cream you need.
