- Preheat the oven to 150 degrees Celsius.
- Bake the almonds until golden brown, spreading them out on the baking sheet. It takes approximately 15 to 20 minutes to do this task. From time to time, stir or shake the mixture. Allow the appliance to cool fully before using it.
- In a blender or food processor, combine the roasted almonds, coconut oil, and salt. Be patient; the nut butter will take some time to become really creamy and unctuous. The speed is determined by the kind of cooking equipment utilized.
To get a smoother texture, we removed the skin off the almonds, although this is not required.
If you want to remove the husks, boil the raw almonds for 60 seconds (no longer!). Drain the water as soon as the timer goes off. Dry with a paper towel after rinsing with cold water. When you gently push on the shells with your finger, you’ll notice that they loosen. Make sure you don’t smash them by mistake. After removing the sheets, allow them to dry before proceeding to step 1.
Refrigerate the mixture for a firmer texture. At room temperature, the butter will soften. It will keep for 2-3 weeks in the fridge and 3-4 days at room temperature.
