How to make Philly Cheesesteaks

Spread both sides of the baguette halves with garlic butter.

Heat a large skillet over medium heat and place the toast, butter side down, under the toast. Press down with a spatula to evenly brown them.

Remove the toast from the pan and set aside. Heat a dash of olive oil in an empty pan. When hot, add the chopped onions and cook until tender. Remove the onions from the pan and place them in a small bowl.

Place the rib eye on a cutting board and cut into very thin slices.

Heat another dash of olive oil in an empty skillet over medium-high heat. Let the sirloin become translucent and sear it. Season with salt and pepper and add most of the chopped onions back in. Divide the beef mixture into two mounds in the pan and place half a piece of provolone on each.

While the cheese melts, spread the mayonnaise on the inside of the two toasted baguettes.

Place the bread mayonnaise side down on top of the melted cheese and beef mixture in the pan. Use a spatula to fold the filling into the bread, turning it over to catch anything that might fall out.
