Pear crumble pie is a delicious and truly irresistible dessert. This is an autumnal version of the classic almond crumble pie. The crumbly, crispy shell contains a filling of pears andpowdered cinnamon for a soft, opaque and tasty result. For our version we have chosen the Williams pear variety, which with its sweetness and dark flesh is perfect for this type of preparation. A cake with a strong taste and easy to prepare that will seduce you from the first bite; to enjoy at breakfast, with a box of yoghurt or a cup of white tea, or at the end of a rich Sunday lunch. So let’s see how we can prepare it by following all our photographic tips and steps.

How to make a crumbled cake with pears

Mix the flour, the baking powder and the egg in a large bowl. Melt the butter and add it to the other ingredients (1).

Knead quickly with your fingertips until you get lots of crumbs (2).

Pour half of the dough into a baking tin with a diameter of 22 cm and compact it well (3).

Wash, peel and dice the pears (4).

Pour 3 tablespoons water, 1 tablespoon granulated sugar (5) and the juice of a lemon into a non-stick frying pan, put it on the fire and let it melt lightly.

At this point add the pears and a pinch of cinnamon (6) and cook until the fruit is cooked.

Place the pears on the already compacted dough (7).

Cover the other half of the dough (8) and bake in an oven at 180 degrees for about 30 minutes.

At the end of cooking, remove the crumbled pears from the oven and let them cool, then press them out of the pan, sprinkle the surface with icing sugar and serve in slices (9).

Preservation of crumbled perry

The pear cake can be kept at room temperature, covered in a special container or under a glass bell, for 3-4 days.
