Fast-food pizza is something of a guilty pleasure for America’s gourmets and health nuts alike, but there’s no reason to stop eating it once you’ve cut carbs and added some healthy fats. This keto-friendly skillet pizza recipe is a low-carb, fat-filled version of your favorite, cheesy American pizza pie. It’s easy to make and tastes like a perfectly decadent slice of pizza pie.

My housemate shared this recipe with me last night – it’s so easy to throw together! We use keto cheese (we prefer the Tillamook brand, but you could go with the Jarlsberg or Boursin if you can’t find the Tillamook), a little bit of our Italian seasoning, and a bunch of cheese. I top mine with some pepperoni and serve it with keto garlic bread.

Instructions

  1. Preheat a nonstick skillet with a 7-inch (18-cm) diameter over medium heat.

  2. In the bottom of the skillet, sprinkle 3/4 of the cheese. The cheese will solidify into a thin coating.

  3. Reduce the heat to low and add the sausage, bell pepper, remaining cheese, and pepperoni to the melted cheese. Cook for 3-4 minutes over low heat, or until the toppings are warmed.

  4. Season the pizza with the Italian spice. When the cheese on top has melted and the cheese “crust” has browned, the pizza is ready.

  5. Remove the pan from the heat and set it aside to cool for 5 minutes before serving.

  6. Place the pizza on a dish after removing it from the pan. Cut the pizza into pieces using a pizza cutter. Serve with a dipping sauce of tomato sauce.
