There are many, many other types of pepper. Fortunately, the most amazing peppers are easily accessible through seed sources on the internet.

Crossing of sweet pepper varieties

If you are interested in crossing peppers, there are some things you should know. First of all, peppers of the same species cross each other most often. This means that crossing two different types of linen will be more successful than crossing the chin with Frutex.

Secondly, the process takes a long time. You probably won’t see your first hybrid chili for a year or more.

Thirdly, you will have very unstable peppers for the first generations. The F2 seed, or branch 2 generation, is very unstable. In the first generations there are many genetic differences. To obtain a stable variety it is necessary to grow at least 8 generations of selected and isolated plants!

If you’re still interested in crosses, join the Phenos & Crosses group on Facebook to learn and get inspired. The community loves to share great photos of amateurs and professional paprika producers.

I hope this article about pepper varieties helped you somehow! If something is missing or if there is something to add, please let us know. Thank you for reading it.
