Corn balls with cheese
Cheesy cornbread balls were a common after-school snack at our house. My mom even packed these cheese sandwiches in the school lunch box to share with our friends at school. My son loves this cheesecake and anything with potatoes, cheese and corn. They make a great party appetizer, and your guests will take note of your corn dumpling and cheese recipe.
This is a Jain-style dumpling recipe with no onions or garlic and minimal ingredients like alo or potatoes, corn, cheese, ginger, green peppers and fresh coriander leaves. You can add any flavor you like, like B. red pepper flakes, oregano or garlic powder. You can even sprinkle it with breadcrumbs for extra flavor. To make good cornbread balls, keep wetting to a minimum and evenly coat the finished cornbread balls with bread crumbs before baking. This gives a crispy exterior and a soft, creamy, cheesy interior. You can remove them one hour before baking, defrosting and frying. I always put the cooked meatballs in the fridge for a few minutes before dipping them in cornmeal dough, rolling in bread crumbs and baking. This allows the cheese balls to keep their shape and the flavors to blend. For an even more cheesy touch, add a small cube of cheese in the center of the cornbread balls. This makes it a soft, sticky center that kids love.
